Keep opening up possibilities.

« It calls for a radical stance and the will to resist. It calls for a desire to defend artists and their work. To fight for their place in our societies, to refuse to let art become part of the entertainment industry. (...) If the situation has become what it is today, we are not victims. We share responsibility for it. »

Hello,

Almost three years after Fomo was founded, the first creations we have supported are making their way onto the stage : Manicomio by Théâtre d’Un Jour and dyke injection by Camille Freychet. ANNETTE by Canicule and Reclaim by T1J continue to tour, while our next productions are already taking shape : Vivre (expérience provisoire) by T1J et 158, avenue du by Canicule / Olivia Smets. More than a hundred performances are on the horizon this season, and several European projects are taking shape.

This marks an important milestone for our team. And an opportunity to reaffirm what made us want to build Fomo in the first place: to support artists, not simply productions.

Artists who bring singular visions of the world, whose work cannot always be confined to a single discipline, aesthetic or format. Theatre meets circus, music, movement and voice. Artistic languages intersect, certainties shift. What interests us is precisely what these encounters generate and what they compel us to reconsider.

Our responsibility is to create the conditions in which these artistic approaches can flourish. To defend large-scale productions when a work calls for them, to give research the time it needs, to allow a performance to live beyond its premiere and evolve through encounters with different audiences. Not to systematically ask artists to scale down their ambitions to fit what seems immediately programmable.

It is in this same spirit that we are developing our European collaborations: not simply to bring performances across borders, but to bring together audiences, artists, practices and perspectives that might otherwise never meet. To work with our partners towards more coherent touring models, share resources and responsibilities, and embrace the possibility that what happens elsewhere might also transform the way we work here.

We know that these ambitions come up against increasingly complex economic, social and environmental realities every day. They require us to make choices, find new balances and sometimes rethink our methods. But this is also where our share of responsibility lies: in the artistic forms we support, the space we give artists and the relationships we choose to build.

We approach this new season with the same unwavering desire: to keep opening up possibilities rather than growing accustomed to their limits.
